Ways to Make Your Carpet Last Longer

»Posted by on Nov 9, 2017 in Carpet Last Longer | 0 comments

Every seven years, carpets are usually replaced. Most replacements involve a home remodeling prior to it being sold or after it is purchased. If your treat your carpet right, you can maximize the potential of your carpet and get more years from your investment. Here are some tips that can help you.

Carpet Last Longer

    Keep the Dirt Outside

Upon entering at home, many people remove their shoes and it became a culture for quite a time. This habit keeps the carpet look new. Entrance mat can also be used to lessen the dirt that will enter your house and eventually stick with your carpet.

You may not realize it but dirt tracked into your carpet will eventually go down to the carpet backing and grinds away at the fibers, literally wearing them out. Surface soil also adds to the problem by making the carpet look dull, fine grit scratches the fibers of your carpet the same way a diamond scratches a glass. The carpet will still look dull and dirty because surface composed of fiber is distorted.

    Vacuum Properly

The best way to delay the heavy cost of replacement and maximize the life of your carpet is by cleaning it properly. Entrance areas with and areas with high traffic must be vacuumed twice a week and the rest of the carpet must be vacuumed once a week.

    Buy the Right Carpet Pad

The wrong pad will cut the life of your carpet in half while the right one will add years to the lifespan of your carpet. The quality of your carpet is not determined by thickness but by its density. A good quality pad must measure 3/8 to ½ inch thick and have a density rating of at least 6 lbs.

The cheap and low-density pad will only last for a few years before it will need replacement. You will need a thinner pad with a density of 8 pounds for high traffic areas.

    Hide Carpet Runs

Do not worry if you have a running snag with woven loops because you can simply repair the damage and it will be invisible to almost everyone but you. The things that you will need are scissors, screwdriver, carpet adhesive, and tape.

Gently loosen the tug yarn to find the portion where it firmly sticks to the backing and apply a bead of carpet adhesive into the run, uses the screwdriver to press each scab into the adhesive.

    Clean Up Pet Accidents

If there is an accident in your carpet caused by your pets, clean them immediately because it can damage the fibers and change the color of the carpet. If you are experiencing pet accidents on your carpet that is quite hard to remove, you can call pet stain removal professionals to provide professional services.

    Cut Out Stains and Burns

If your carpet has stains and burns, it is crucial that you do the proper repair and removal. You can use a cookie cutter to cut out the damaged portion and replace it with a patch that comes from the remnant. The damaged part will not be noticeable at all, or invisible.

Key Words, SEO’s and the Art of Flaming

»Posted by on Oct 22, 2017 in SEO | 0 comments

Recently I have written a few articles mentioning how CP’s utilize Associated Content and how I am really lousy at employing all the suggested tools for Internet publishing success. Now I want to pass along a few pointers for those who actually give a rat’s ass as to their integrity versus page views.

First off as I stated, I am no one’s model of success. Just because I do not employ the successful suggestions of Internet publishing does not in anyway mean I do not grasp the concept. I grasp that full face motorcycle helmets save lives, but if ya ever catch me wearing one I will be doing so under pain of death – believe it!

SEO

So I was skimming the op/eds and came across a CP’s effort that suggested and alluded to an event in the life of a prominent American politician who recently stepped down from their elected position. Man, the dolts do love to attack this person day and night, any semblance of decency or factual recitation of fact completely coincidental.

This gentleman wrote an article entirely devoted to the discussion of this prominent former politician’s divorce, which is not happening. Huh? And a grand effort it was! So rumor is sufficient to then use as premise to write an article about the non-divorce? This is publishing whoring in the extreme!

And I know all about whoring – I was one for years – a Man Whore extraordinaire! But I draw the line at literary whoring. I may not play the game, but that is by choice. This cat I am writing about is so much the literary whore he has a helmet with a red light attached and flashing 24/7. “Hey, look at me!” Jeeeez!

The writer in question used a key phrase an astounding sixteen times in the first three paragraphs. The questionable phrase was a three word job with the person’s first and last names and then the word “divorce” after the name. Can you say keyword and SEO????

I have come across some blatantly self-promoting stuff on the ‘net, but this is taking the cake for sure. And the whole article was only 4 paragraphs and the last paragraph had four more mentions of the phrase and one more mention of the person’s name. So four paragraphs total and 20 mentions of the key phrase in four paragraphs. Add in the last mention of the name of the person and we have 21 mentions in four paragraphs. What the Hell is up with that?

Here is the comment I left on their article:

“So, what was the point of this article – SEO in Richmond and keyword demonstration? Other than repeating “BLANK Divorce,” did this article say anything? Keep keywords to UNDER 5%. Wow!”

Maybe they met the 5% goal – I don’t know – I don’t have the word count/keyword disgronifier saved as a favorite up here on my laptop, so without going to more effort, I can’t say for sure, but four paragraphs and 21 mentions of the key phrase does seem a tad ‘tawdry” to me.

I guess I flamed the author. I’m a very bad boy. I am in desperate need of corporal punishment. Any volunteers, ladies?

So I may not be much, but I ain’t a literary whore. I ain’t a great writer either, but then again, I don’t pretend to be. But I do have integrity, and I guess having that makes me feel so dirty when I read this person’s offering – like I said, it was just plain “tawdry” at least to me anyway.

I feel so dirty and used by reading this individual’s offering that I need a shower and I mean now. And yeah, I’m often full of it, but I am being dead serious here. This is shameful. 21 mentions in 4 paragraphs? Sir, have you no shame?

And just so’s I can demonstrate to the reader that indeed I get it, I have read tips in the forums and have read the work of some of the most successful AC Sources round here. In no way does their work look like that of the author I am discussing here – no way – not even close. What the author in question is guilty of is in no way reminiscent of the fine work of many of AC’s most prolific and successful contributors. Good on those of you who use the tools properly and effectively!

Seems to me there is a fine line between SEO’s and keyword employment and Internet literary whoring. Just my two-cents friends. Self-promotion good; Internet literary whoring bad.
